The first circuit on the ventilator is based on the “Volume Control / Assist Control”

Settings

  • We are able to set the Vt (tidal volume) by adjusting our flow rate – Flow control from flow meter.
  • Fio2 and flow rate can be adjusted by changing the Venturi – TroVent supplied with 5 scalable Venturis per Unit.
  • We are able to set the RR (respiratory rate) by adjusting our inhalation and exhalation timers. The highest frequency we can achieve is 120 breaths per minute
  • We are able to control the FiO2 (oxygen concentration) through a venturi. At the moment the extremes we can have are 100% medical grade air & 0% oxygen supply and all the way to 0% medical grade air to 100% oxygen supply. The way that we achieve this is by using a flow control on the supply lines to the venturi. The venturi blends almost 1:1 without restriction, meaning that for every 1 litre of medical grade air, it would create a vacuum for 1 litre of oxygen, assuming that both pressure supplies are equal.
  • TroVent needs a single O2 / Oxygen point only & does NOT need medical grade compressed air.
  • TroVent has PEEP (Positive End Expiration Pressure) as our supply pressure stops when the valves change over to allow the patient to exhale.
  • The TroVent  valves control the flow of gases to and from the patient which allows us to offer the patient pressure support. The patient pressures will be monitored through the medical filter at the distal patient end (Y) of the dual limb circuit.
  • This TroVent product uses the universal 22mm Dual Limb disposable type ventilator circuit.
  • IMPORTANT TO NOTE: The patient exhaled air is ventilated through a medical filter BEFORE it exits the circuit. The benefit is the virus is contained in the filter and not the room.

Monitoring

  • The TroVent has 2 gauges:
  • Gauge 1 – Patient Pressure - This will monitor both Inhalation and Exhalation pressure.
  • Gauge 2 - PEEP (Positive End Expiration Pressure).Exhalation - Ensures minimum lung pressure is maintained.

The second circuit on the ventilator is based on the “High flow Nasal Cannula”

Settings

  • TroVent supplies a constant oxygen pressure and flow rate to the patient.
  • We are able to control the FiO2 (oxygen concentration) through a venturi. At the moment the extremes we can have are 100% medical grade air & 0% oxygen supply and all the way to 0% medical grade air to 100% oxygen supply. The way that we achieve this is by using a flow control on the supply lines to the venturi. The venturi blends almost 1:1 without restriction, meaning that for every 1 litre of medical grade air, it would create a vacuum for 1 litre of oxygen, assuming that both pressure supplies are equal.
  • The patient circuit can be connected to a Humidifier which would then allow for humidified high flow gases to be supplied to the patient.
  • As this is a mechanical ventilator and is NOT reliant on electrical power in case of power cuts.
